NEW DELHI: Addressing the last day of budget session of the 17th Lok Sabha on Saturday, PM Narendra Modi said that his government worked for the welfare of the transgender community by issuing them identity cards and giving them “an identity.”
“Those who are on the margins have been reassured that there is a government”, he said.
We have given transgender persons an identity, he added, sharing that several transgender people have received their identity cards.
Talking about the introduction of new criminal bills, PM Modi said, “For 75 years, we lived with Penal Code given by the British. To the new generation, we can say with pride that the country might have lived under Penal Code for 75 years but the next generation will live with Nyaya Sanhita. This is true democracy.”
PM Modi also replied to the Motion of Thanks on the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Pran Pratishtha of Ramlalla.
