Manchester United turned heads when it finished eighth under Erik Ten Hag in the Premier League last season, then making it the club’s worst finish since the competition started in 1992.
But this season, Ruben Amorim’s side has dived into further lows as it finds itself in 16th place after its latest 0-2 loss against West Ham. The side has amassed just 39 points from 36 outings.
Unwanted records set by Manchester United
- United is already certain to set the club’s worst-ever points total in the Premier League. Before this season, the Red Devils’ lowest total was 58 in the 2021-22 season.
- Manchester United is also set to finish in the bottom-half of the Premier League for the first time since its inception.
- The 0-2 loss against West Ham was United’s 17th league defeat of the season, which is the most since the 1989-90 campaign when it was defeated 16 times in England’s old Division One.
- Amorim’s side is also under the threat of breaking the record of United’s all-time season-low figure of 49 goals. This season, the Red Devils have 42 goals and have two matches to overtake the tally.
