NEW DELHI: The Congress on Tuesday hit out at the BJP after they criticised Raebareli MP Rahul Gandhi’s overseas travel, and said that he is in London, attending his niece’s graduation ceremony and will return soon.BJP’s IT chief Amit Malviya criticised Gandhi on X, questioning his “frequent disappearances” and undisclosed foreign trips. He demanded explanations from Gandhi as the Leader of the opposition.“Rahul Gandhi was on a secret foreign holiday just last week. Now, he has flown abroad again to yet another undisclosed location,” Malviya said on X.“Why these frequent disappearances? What is so compelling that keeps him away from the country so often? As the Leader of the Opposition, he owes the people of India answers,” he added.While social media speculated about Gandhi visiting Bahrain, Congress sources confirmed his travel route was New Delhi-Bahrain-London.Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera defended Gandhi, stating on X: “The PMO is, as usual, up to its dirty tricks. It knows nothing else. Rahul Gandhi has gone to London to attend the graduation ceremony of his niece and will be back shortly.”The occasion pertains to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra’s daughter Miraya Vadra’s graduation in the UK.
