MANGALURU: In a tragic incident, a 65-year-old woman named Eramma died after falling from a moving private bus on Monday. According to City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, the incident occurred at 10 am while the victim was en route to Surathkal with her daughter aboard a private bus.
When the bus reached the service station near Jokatte Cross at approximately 10:10 am, the driver, Anil John Lobo, abruptly and recklessly applied the brakes.This sudden maneuver caused Eramma, who was seated in the front near the driver, to fall from the bus. Unfortunately, the rear left wheel of the bus ran over her, resulting in a head injury and immediate death.
A case has been registered at Traffic North police station under IPC sections 304A and 279, and an investigation is underway.
