A 33-year-old woman was found allegedly beaten to death at a rented flat at Mannanthala on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Shaheena. She had been living in the flat along with her brother for the past four days, according to the Mannanthala police.
Her elder brother Shamsad, 44, and his friend Visakh, 45, were arrested by the police.
The police said it appeared Shaheena had been beaten to death. Her face and body had injuries and bruises and her arm seemed broken near the shoulder. However, they refused to specify if any weapon used in the attack had been recovered.
Shaheena was found by her parents when they visited the flat. The brother and sister were living there in connection with medical treatment. Shaheena’s body has been moved to the Government Medical College Hospital mortuary.
