ALWAR /JAIPUR: The woman who allegedly blackmailed a police inspector and a constable, extorting lakhs of rupees from them, had as accomplices two policemen, both currently stationed in Deeg district.
Head constable Gangadhar and constable Vinod Kumar were detained in the case and later suspended on Wednesday. Speaking to TOI, Deeg SP Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay confirmed that both were suspended.
Along with them, four accused, including three women-Kavita, Sangeeta, Pooja-and a youth named Digambar Singh have been arrested for extorting around one crore rupees through honey trapping Kumher circle inspector (CI) Mahendra Kumar Rathi and constable Rohitash Regar in Alwar.
Police have recovered blackmail documents from the possession of the woman and her associates. The evidence includes phone data, a uniform, and an ID card of the constable. An officer said, “The bank accounts of the accused have been examined. The police inspector and constable have registered two separate cases of honeytrap and sextortion at Aravali Vihar police station.”
CI Mahendra Kumar Rathi filed a report stating that in 2022, the woman contacted him through social media, and subsequently, they communicated through other means. After meeting in person in Alwar, the conversation took a different turn, during which photos and videos were clicked and exchanged. Subsequently, the woman began blackmailing him, threatening to implicate him in a rape case unless he provided money for purchasing a house and other expenses.
