Rajgir is all set to host the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 from June 1-10.
The event is set to feature 14 teams from around the world. Alongside host India, Iran, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand, the Netherlands, Japan, Poland, Argentina, Hungary, Germany, Kenya and Uganda will be in the fray.
This is the second time Bihar will host the World Cup.
The tournament will take place at the State Sports Academy in the city. Matches will be free for spectators but will require online registration for passes. Large screens will be set up for those without passes.
Jitendra Pran Singh Thakur, Secretary of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, andRaveendran Sankaran, I.P.S. Director General and CEO, Bihar State Sports Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding to officially kick off preparations for the event.
Captain Sonali Vishnu and vice-captain Pushpa Rana graced the occasion. Other dignitaries, including Ravindranath Chaudhary, Anand Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Tejaswi Singh Gehlot, and Kumar Vijay, attended the event.
