Youngster’s body recovered from Periyar

The body of a youngster who had reportedly gone missing on Wednesday night was recovered from the Periyar near the Marthandavarma Bridge on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Athul P. Shabu, 21, from Thiruvananthapuram. He was a student of National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS).

Athul had been staying with his relative in a rented place near Aluva and had gone missing on Wednesday night, the police said. A motorcycle and a mobile phone were recovered from near the bridge.
