TIRUPATI: Former chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu ridiculed the ruling party by claiming that the YSRCP was unable to find candidates to be fielded in the 2024 general elections fray.
Addressing impressive public meetings near Piler in Annamayya district and Uravakonda in Anantapur district on Saturday, Naidu said the over-ambitious ruling party which set it’s sight on winning 175 out of 175 assembly seats in the state, was now witnessing a setback even at Pulivendula represented by Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The ruling party has shunted out as many as 68 sitting MLAs and constituency in-charges. Many YSRCP MLAs have been posted as incharges in their neighbouring constituencies. The ruling party thinks it can deceive the people and win by doing so, but the people are wiser and will defeat the ruling party’s strategies
Equally ridiculing the ruling party’s “Siddam” (We are ready) campaign, the TDP chief said that the people of the state were ready to vote out the ruling party in the ensuing general elections.
“The people of the state are fed up with the YSRCP government and are ready to teach the ruling party a befitting lesson in the upcoming elections. There is anger in all sections of the society including women, youngsters, elderly, government employees, teachers etc, against the YSRCP for ruining the state on all fronts with its misgovernance”, Naidu lamented.
“Both Jagan and me hail from the drought prone Rayalaseema region. While the TDP regime spent Rs.12500 crore for grounding various irrigation projects during our tenure between 2014-2019, can the Jagan Reddy government openly tell the people how much they spent on irrigation in Rayalaseema during the last five years”, the TDP chief questioned.
Claiming that various irrigation projects like the Handri-Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, Naidu assured the people that the TDP after coming back to power will complete all the pending irrigation projects in the state.
“When the Annamayya dam got washed away and about 40 people lost their lives and nearly 450 houses were damaged completely about two years ago, the state government has done nothing to revive the lives of the people in the then combined Kadapa district which happens to be the home district of the Chief minister”, Naidu lamented.
The TDP chief also targeted his longtime political foe and YSRCP minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy.
“Papala Peddireddy and his coteries have amassed ill-gotten wealth worth approximately Rs.35000 crore in the last five years by resorting to various unlawful activities including illegal mining, sand mining, red sanders smuggling etc. Mineral wealth worth approximately Rs.400 crore and sand worth approximately Rs.500 crore has been looted by Peddireddy and his gangs. The minister who got uneasy when the TDP questioned about all his illegal activities, he booked false cases against 600 odd TDP leaders and activists and sent them to jail. TDP will launch a detailed probe against all illegal activities of Peddireddy and his coteries and will send them to jail”, the former CM warned.
