AYODHYA: Iqbal Ansari, a litigant in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit case, was seen showering flower petals on PM Modi’s motorcade in Ayodhya on Saturday.
Ansari described it as a momentous occasion. “He (Modi) has come to our place. He is our guest and our PM,” he said after the cavalcade passed Paanji Tola area during the roadshow.
His father Hashim Ansari was the original litigant in the land dispute case. After he died at 95 in 2016, Iqbal became the litigant. Earlier, in October, Ansari had hailed Ayodhya as a place of religious significance for Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians, saying deities from across the country were venerated here.
