RANCHI: Several associates of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, including his press adviser Abhishek Prasad, had their premises searched by ED on Wednesday during a coordinated operation linked to the agency’s investigation into the illegal mining case.
ED sources said Wednesday’s raids were meant to look for evidence of complicity in the mining scam, involving alleged money laundering.
At Prasad’s house in Ranchi’s Shivpuri, the search began at 6am and continued all day as paramilitary personnel stood guard. A locksmith was called in to apparently break a safe in the house. An ED team was also sent to the house of Binod Singh, proprietor of Grid Consultant Architects.
Meanwhile, another team raided the residence of one Roshan Kumar, said to be a person with extensive contacts in administrative circles.
