The advance booking of filmmaker Siddharth Anand’s Fighter didn’t take the box office by storm. However, the movie is slowly making amends for it at the ticket window. Hence, despite opening at a decent number of Rs. 24.60 crores on Day 1 in India, the film, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, jumped to Rs. 41.20 crores on Day 2, which was a Republic Day holiday across the country.

Fighter has garnered impressive numbers at the worldwide box office too. The film grossed Rs. 78.33 crores so far in India and Rs. 21.61 crores in the overseas market. Hence, the worldwide gross total of Fighter in the first two days comes down to Rs. 99.94 crores, which is just a stone throw away from the three-figure mark of Rs. 100 crores.

The good news for Fighter, both in India and abroad, is that no big Bollywood movie is slated to release in the next few weeks. This should give a major clear period for the action thriller in the coming weeks.

Fighter is the story of a group of brave Indian Air Force officers and their efforts to keep terrorism at bay. Also starring Anil Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover in pivotal roles, the movie is produced under Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Siddharth Anand’s banner Marflix Pictures.
