NEW DELHI: Information and broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday launched the government’s 2024 calendar showcasing the social, cultural and economic transformation that the Modi government has brought to the lives of Indian people.
The ‘Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat‘ themed-calendar, Thakur said, catalogues the government’s achievements and the strides India has made towards becoming ‘Atmanirbhar’.
“A country that was second largest importer of mobile phones is today the second largest manufacturer. A country that used to import vaccines is now distributing vaccines to the whole world under Vaccine Maitri. India is today a manufacturing giant,” Thakur said, adding that India has also created ripples in areas it was not known for – the startup ecosystem, for instance – where it is now the third in the world.
An annual affair, the government’s 2023 calendar had showcased the government’s achievements as well as its future commitments, stressing on the PM’s motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’. With the transition to 2024- year of the Lok Sabha elections-the calendar highlights the government’s welfare measures, and emphasises transparency and accountability even as it underscores its cultural, heritage revivalist projects.
