NEW DELHI: Congress termed the letter by 21 retired judges as orchestrated by PM Modi with the objective of browbeating an independent judiciary.
AICC spokesman Jairam Ramesh said the judiciary in recent months called out the corruption and failure of Modi govt by terming as unconstitutional electoral bonds scam and declaring that there is a constitutional breakdown in Manipur.Ramesh said a lady judge recently criticised demonetisation. “The letter by Modi friendly judges is a sequel to the letter written by 600 Modi friendly lawyers. It’s an attempt to frighten an independent judiciary. The greatest threat to independent judiciary comes from BJP, Modi and Amit Shah,” he added.
