US: At least one dead, several injured in Iowa school shooting

NEW DELHI: At least one person was killed and several others were injured in a shooting on Thursday at an Iowa high school.
The incident took place at Perry High School. The Sheriff said multiple people have been shot at an Iowa high school and the threat is over but gave no other details.
The high school is part of the 1,785-student Perry Community School District.Thursday was the first day back in school for students following the holiday break.
Perry is about 40 miles (64.37 kilometers) miles northwest of Des Moines.
The scene was “secured” as of 9:30 am local time (1530 GMT), ABC reported, citing Dallas County officials.
Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican presidential candidate, had initially planned a rally in Perry. However, in response to the shooting reports, the event was altered to an in-person prayer gathering.
In 11 days, Iowa will hold the first statewide contest for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
